So I started looking into different business ideas that I could do from home. What I learned was that not all businesses out there are equal, and it pays to do your homework.

Choosing a home business today requires a lot of thought and consideration, and requires careful evaluation of many factors. The factors to consider include:

- Does the company have a proven track record?
- Is the company financially sound?
- Does the company have strong management with ethical practice and values?
- Has the company experienced consistent growth?
- Are the products consumable and the types used by everyone already month after month?
- Are the prices competitive?
- Is there a high reorder rate?
- Are there effective training and support systems and mentors in place to help me succeed?
- Is there a way to make residual income (work that you do once and you keep getting paid for it in the years to come)?

I wanted a company with management that makes decisions based on the best interests of its customers, and not the bottom line. I was also looking for a company that had no hidden agendas where what you see is what you get, and anyone can succeed at it if he/she is willing to put the effort in.
